About Me

Welcome to my blog!

I have been teaching for 10 years now!  The time sure flies!  I started my teaching career teaching middle school at Catholic Schools in Northville and Westland Michigan.  I enjoyed my time in these schools, but for the past 6 years I have been teaching Math and Student Council to high school students at Divine Child High School.  I love working there since I graduated from the same school 16 years ago.  It’s great seeing the traditions that still stand and how we have evolved over the years.

I use technology in my classroom on a daily basis.  We are a one to one ipad school, which comes with both advantages and challenges.  I have the unique opportunity to do an in-class version of the flipped classroom with my students, which works well as I have students with a variety of math backgrounds and needs as they enter high school.  With this I also have to work harder to keep students focused and not distracted by the other features of this technology, while teaching them to advocate for themselves and be self-motivated.

Personally, I have an amazing boyfriend and a cute rescue, Soph.  I never had a pet other than fish growing up, so rescuing her was a huge change but I’m so glad that I did.  She is much more than a pet to me and I’m glad she is a part of my life.  In addition to spending time with them, I love to travel and am a huge baseball fan.  My bucket list is to visit every Major League Baseball stadium and I’m over a third of the way done! I also love to read and learn so I hope to get a lot out of this course.
